To go from Malaga airport to Gibraltar, using a car or bus you will have to take the national road N-340 or the Mediterranean motorway A-7. On the way to Gibraltar, you can choose the toll highway or free highway; time is calculated taking the toll road where traffic is much more fluid, especially in summer.
